MaPa weekend

My parents, Ma and Pa, came to visit Easton this weekend. I say visit Easton because Keith and I really don't count anymore. Easton had so much fun with them. He showed them how he can walk around in his walker and get whatever he wants. He normally sits in his walker and screams and talks to whoever will listen. He is getting to the point now where he wants to play constantly. That is fine with me. It means that I can get more done around the house.

Ma and Pa got to see Easton act like a little bird. Whenever I feed him his oatmeal, I can't even get the spoon back in the bowl before his mouth is open looking for food. Yes, I have a little porker on my hands. The kid loves to eat. We started mixing green beans into his oatmeal on Saturday. By Sunday, he was very fussy all day. This continued to all day Tuesday. Keith and I thought that maybe the green beans weren't settling right or something so we switched to squash. Thank goodness that worked. He has not been fussy since then.

Easton is starting to sit up on his own. Sometimes he will bite the dust, but for the most part he is pretty good at sitting up. He did hit his face pretty good when my parents were here. He didn't cry very long afterwards. I think that it scared him more than anything.

AUSTIN!!!!!

We had the funnest weekend that we have had in a while. We left Friday morning for Austin. Keith had an alumni baseball game for his high school. Those boys had so much fun. By boys I mean the old guys. I don't think that many of them have played since they left St. Andrews. They were already talking about next years game right after they got done playing. I think that eventually we can get this alumni game to where it's a big deal. Today, Keith's legs are very sore. He played catcher for part of the game and then some in the infield. The old guys were beaten by the current varsity team by 2 runs. Thanks to Ryan Belknap, the old guys didn't lose as bad. He hit a grand slam which put them down by 1 run. I am really looking forward to next year. I know Keith is too.

Gracie and Uncle Kracker also came to Austin for the weekend. It was good to see them. It's been a while since they had seen Easton. We went shopping and of course spent way too much money. We bought Easton a walker and he absolutely loves it. Before we know it, he will be moving all around the house and we'll be chasing him every where.

What a weekend

Man, did we have a great weekend!! Friday night Vava, my aunt Eva, came and spent the night with us. Easton had so much fun with her. She plays non stop and is constantly talking to him. Saturday morning she got the idea to see if Easton was like that baby that cracked up when someone tore a piece of paper. Well guess what. He is. He could not stop laughing. I think this is the most I have ever heard him laugh. Keith and I have tried it since she left and it just isn't the same. I think Easton likes Vava better than us. Oh well, what can I do??

Saturday evening we met Matthew and Meagan at Casa Rita's. It was really good to see them. I don't think that we have seen them since Christmas. I think that they really enjoyed holding and playing with Easton. I have to admit that he is a pretty cool kiddo. He thinks that everything is funny.

Sunday was a very eventful day with the time change. Easton decided that he wanted to wake up before 7. I wasn't ok with this. I was pretty productive after that though. I had a new recipe for chocolate cupcakes that I wanted to try. So I baked chocolate cupcakes from scratch. We went to church after the cupcakes came out of the oven. Easton slept the whole time at church. He never does this. He was making up for that hour he lost. We came home after church and I made 2 different types of cream cheese icing. One was a mint kind and the other was a toffee kind. Let's just say that I will definitely be baking these again.

Sunday afternoon we went to Arlington and saw Keith's grandmother, Gigi, and his uncle Mike, Kringle. They got to see Easton eat his oatmeal and bananas. They were impressed at how well he ate. We really need to try to visit them more since we live closer than we used to.

Sunday night we went over to eat dinner with David, Blair and Hayden Smith. We try to do dinner with them at least once a month. Easton loves Hayden and vice versa. Hayden wanted to hold Easton all night. I think that they will be best buds like their mommies.

Abilene

This past weekend we went to Abilene to visit. We had a really good time seeing our family and friends. Our little niece Madelyn, who is 4 days older than Easton, was dedicated on Sunday. Keith and I were very proud to be a part of that. Family means the world to us and Maddy made our weekend. I love seeing Easton and her together. It's so funny because he is so much bigger than her. After holding him and then holding Maddy, it seems like she doesn't weigh anything. 4 pounds really does make a ton of difference in babies. We put Easton and Maddy on the floor next to each other to compare the size difference. It's hard to believe that she is 4 days older.

My mom was never a believer when I told her that Easton could rollover. Well now she believes. Every time someone put him on his tummy, he rolled over. He will not play on his tummy now that he figured out how to rollover.

I think Ma and Pa got some good rocking time with Easton. He fell asleep with one of them every night. I know that they and Easton loved it.

On the way back from Abilene we stopped in Breckenridge to see my Nanny. She hadn't seen Easton since Christmas. He showed her his one and only trick. He knows how to rollover from his tummy. I'm glad we stopped, because Easton has changed so much. Hopefully we can see Nanny more.

Easton learned a new trick from his daddy. I was changing his diaper a few minutes ago and he stuck his foot in his mouth. Keith denies teaching this to Easton, but I've seen him teaching Easton how to put his foot in his mouth. Thanks a lot Keith.

It's cereal time!!!

Easton had his 4 month well baby check today. It went very well. He weighs 15 lbs. 3.5 ozs. and he is 25 3/4 inches long. Since his last visit he has gained 2 lbs and grew 2 inches. Needless to say, he doesn't miss a meal. This child loves to eat. His head and weight are in the 50 percentile and his length is in the 75 percentile. I hope this means he is going to be tall. We got to the part where the doctor was talking about when to put him on cereal and that was at about 5 or 6 months. She then asked us how much he was eating everyday. My response was "7 ounces every 2-21/2 hours." She then said, "Maybe we need to start that cereal now." Easton was eating 42 ounces a day. When they get to 40 ounces you start cereal. Well we started him on oatmeal today after his appointment. Here is a video of him trying to figure out how to eat it.

I just had to put this last picture on here. He is always grabbing at his feet and playing with his toes. I thought that it was cute.

Exhausted

Easton had a big weekend. Aunt Tiffy came to visit!! He loves his aunt Tiffy. He just laughs and talks to her like crazy. He showed off to her by rolling over. Easton hasn't quite figured out how to get his arms under him yet, so we put his arms under him so he can roll over. After he does it, he looks at us and gives a huge smile.

Easton has learned how to pull his socks off. He just found his feet, I guess, so he grabs the toe of his socks and pulls. He thinks that this is so funny. He has also started screaming at the top of his lungs when he is playing. This cracks up Keith and me. He screams and then gets this huge smile like he knows he is funny.

We got Easton his first big boy chair. He loves to sit in it. It makes him think that he is bigger than he really is. He can't really sit up yet so he leans to one side most of the time. When we first put him in it, he was cracking himself up. He almost kicked himself out of it. He was having so much fun in it.

So, I babysit a little girl on Mondays and Wednesdays. I change her diaper on my guest bed and lay Easton next to her. Every time I do this they hold hands across the bed. At first, Brenna just reached over there to Easton. Now, Easton reaches over expecting Brenna's hand to be there. If her hand isn't there, you can tell that Easton gets mad and gives her this look. I think that it's the cutest thing.
